Every May, these little guys start showing up in our yard.
With 3 boys, they get a lot of attention and are often named. This one was named Gar (because he was found in the garden. by me. just seconds from being punctured by my garden hoe.)

I have an 11yo boy that catches anything moving in our yard (frogs, garter snakes, etc). Cute shot!
I used to love trying to catch frogs when I was a little girl. I love frogs ! I love this shot.
Wow! I love this shot. We found a really green tree frog during our gardening this last weekend.
Thanks for the kind comments Petie, Terry Elizabeth, and Vonda!
I have to clarify though, this is a toad, not a frog. (I never knew this until I had boys!)
Frogs have smoother skin, are usually brighter colors, and live in or near water.
Toads have bumpy drier skin, a stubbier body and shorter legs, and can live in dry to moist environments, only in water for laying eggs.
Okay, science lesson for today is done! :)
This is an amazing shot. Love it, even if I have three girls : )
Dana
If those had been in my yard, they so would have been brought in my house.
Adorable though!
That is one cute photo!! And froggie!

What a great shot - and you've caught his eyes perfectly. Love it!
what a perfect shot! my 3 boys love frogs too...must be a boy thing!
Fantastic catch ~ childhood encapsulated! I've got all pink and piXie dust here, but actually know the difference between frog & toad, thanX (in part) to homeschooling. ;-)
Wow! Incredible shot!
I had to go get my youngest to come see your sweet shot... he is sure the toad is pregnant! Don't know how he knows:)
It is a really great shot; puts a smile on my face!
ps. thanks for visiting myeverydaygraces earlier:)
You have a boy after my own heart! My favorite theme to teach my second graders was frogs and toads. We had both in the classroom to feed and care for, I think I had more fun than the kids!
LOVE!!!!
LOVE!!!!
K so to be honest... I think frogs are gross... and the fact that they are in your yard is even more gross... but some how I found this photo sooooo facsinating and I actually think this frog is sooo cute! I may actually touch it if I could... he looks like a toy or something!!
Oh, and you touched it! Ewww!! ;0)
(I'm still a squeamish little girl at heart.)
He is kinda cute tho. Great angle. =)
How cute is he!!!!!! What a little chubster!! You made me smile...GREAT sweet shot :)
Thanks everybody for all the sweet shot love! I'm glad you enjoyed the photo because I loved his beady little eyes and how it all turned out too.
Amber - that's my son's hand in the photo, holding the toad. I was the one to grab in from the garden though because I knew my boys would want it!
And Stephanie - I've gotten used to frogs and toads since having 3 boys! They love all kinds of bugs and insects too, so it's helped me overcome the squeamishness! I still hate spiders though.
diXymiss - sometimes I wish there was more pink and sparkly girl stuff around here! But I do love having boys!
